The acquisitions continue at Momentive Software with the firm acquiring VolunteerMatters, a provider of volunteer management software. It is Momentive’s third acquisition, following the recent purchase of association and certification management software provider, Cobalt, and learning management solutions provider, Blue Sky eLearn.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Momentive Software was spun out of Community Brands. The Association & Events (A&E) and Nonprofit Solutions divisions of Community Brands were acquired during July 2024 by TA Associates (TA), a global growth private equity firm, creating a new platform called Momentive Software.
“Our customers have made it clear that engaging their members and donors is critical to advancing their missions,” Mike Henricks, CEO of Momentive Software, said via a statement. “The acquisition of VolunteerMatters is another important step in expanding our platform to better serve those doing vital work in their communities. It’s a meaningful milestone for VolunteerMatters, for Momentive, and — most importantly — for our customers.”
VolunteerMatters has volunteer management tools, from simplified recruitment and onboarding workflows to tracking hours and scheduling shifts. It will not be merged into an existing Momentive Software product. It will operate as a standalone product and join the Momentive Software portfolio which includes its GiveSmart fundraising platform and MIP accounting solution, Momentive officials told The NonProift Times.
As for Momentive Software’s previous acquisitions this year, Blue Sky eLearn and Cobalt, will remain standalone products. Blue Sky eLearn now operates as Path LMS.
VolunteerMatters staff have joined the Momentive Software, which now employs 1,295 team members globally. The VolunteerMatters management team also joined Momentive Software. Mark Hopwood, president and co-founder of VolunteerMatters, joined as senior director, nonprofit strategy, VolunteerMatters. Bob Hopwood, chief technology officer and co-founder of VolunteerMatters, joined as senior director, product management & software architect.
