Maura Allen is the new chief program officer at Share Our Strength in Washington, D.C. Allen will lead Share Our Strength’s largest division, playing a role to shape a unified, forward-looking programmatic strategy to help advance the nonprofit’s mission of ending childhood hunger and poverty in the U.S. and abroad, according to an announcement from the nonprofit.
Allen will be a member of the executive leadership team and serve as a bridge between strategy and execution, developing a programmatic vision for the organization and translating it into a focused, results-driven program agenda that aligns teams, reinforces strategic priorities, and drives implementation and sustained execution across all programs.
Allen joined Share Our Strength from her most recent role as chief program officer at the global economic development organization ACDI/VOCA. She has led global program portfolios and teams for more than 20 years. Previous to that, she spent several years at Chemonics International.
