New CEO For Communities Foundation of Texas

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), the largest community foundation in Texas and one of the largest in the nation with $793 million in assets, unveiled Wayne White as its new president and CEO.

White has more than 30 years of corporate and nonprofit leadership experience, nationally, globally, and at the regional and community level. White joined the foundation from his most recent role as a senior executive at the American Cancer Society.

White will lead the 70-year old organization beginning on July 31. He succeeds former president and CEO Dave Scullin who retired this past March. In the interim, Frank Risch, former CFT board chair, has been serving as special advisor to the board chair, Richie Butler.

White’s appointment concludes a six-month national search involving more than 280 candidate profiles.

“The path to this decision spanned many states and ZIP codes and ultimately resulted in the successful recruitment of a talented leader to join our North Texas community. Wayne brings a wealth of leadership experience and a passion for positive change. With his exceptional leadership skills coupled with extensive business and nonprofit management experience, the Board’s search committee is confident that Wayne is the right leader to guide our foundation towards achieving even greater heights in alignment with our mission and vision. We’re eager for our region to experience the impact that Wayne has made across the nation,” said Butler via a statement.

White started his career as a member of GE’s Management Development Program with multiple cross-functional assignments in the consumer businesses. He subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility at AT&T Ameritech, Verizon Wireless, Motorola, Kobo, and Alcatel. He managed billion-dollar global business units and honed his reputation as an innovator and skilled relationship manager.
